Hole-in-the-wall Ice cream - YUM!

Oh my goodness gracious me! I never knew that Madras had such good ice-cream! Right by the Royapuram bridge is this hole-in-the-wall convenience store. It’s the kind of store you find all over India- small and locally owned by generations of families.

This one is owned by Mr.Bhaskaran, who’s dad was taught how to make ice cream by an Englishman in the 1920’s. And the recipe hasn’t changed ever since!

This place is hard to find. Right where the Royapuram bridge begins, you’ll find this store on the left side of the road. Go find it! You won’t regret it, I promise. But go at night. The traffic during the day is supposed to be nauseating.
