Golden Indian Ghee

I’m a lover of Ghee. If you haven’t had it, then you’re missing out.

Ghee is clarified butter. Butter is slowly boiled till all the milk solids separate and what you have left is a golden fragrant liquid which is strained into a container.

Shanmugam Ghee Stores in Triplicane, Madras sells the best Ghee I’ve ever had! I don’t know how they do it but just one whiff of their Ghee reminds me of childhood, weddings and rain soaked earth.

I went Ghee shopping with my cousin, Nasiha. She navigated the roads, and the language! :)
