Edge of Land
Imagine
standing at the edge of land. The sun is shining. In front of you is beautiful
blue San Francisco Bay with Alcatraz sitting solidly. To your right is the city
sprawled out with Coit Tower standing proud. Behind you is the magnificent
Golden Gate Bridge. It’s a beautiful day and the wind is blowing into the sails
of the boats gliding on the Bay.
That’s
how it was when I went to the Wave Organ. The subject of one of my videos on
San Francisco for tripfilms.com, the wave organ is an amazing sculpture.

The
opening shot in the video was taken in low tide. It was still beautiful but the
Organ wasn’t in its prime. My second visit was perfectly timed with the full
moon and high tide. That's the time to go. You have to use your imagination a bit while listening to the pipes. Sometimes it does sound like the drain water. But when you do catch the musical notes, it's amazing!
The Wave Organ is an perfect example of man’s creativity and the forces of nature coming together wonderfully!
